Hello everyone. As we all know now, there is a huge pandemic happening surrounding the Covid-19 virus. This virus has brought up many questions and concerns about how our world is changing due to this virus. Personally, I have had to question how the school will work being transferred to all online classes. Two out of my five classes were already online so I am not concerned about how those classes will go but the other three classes I am taking are very difficult. To be honest, I would prefer to meet one on one with my teachers for those classes but obviously that won’t be happening for a few months or longer. As a digital design major, this pandemic has made me realize how important social interaction are. If I need to interview someone, I receive answers, but the body language is missing from the conversation. When I would walk to school or work, I would become aware of my surroundings and come up with ideas based on people’s conversations and body language.
Away from how concerning this pandemic is I have found great information that has helped me understand how this virus works. The cdc.gov website has been helpful lately with suggestions and how to understand how the virus spreads as well as how to avoid spreading it.

Also, this YouTube video really helped me understand how the virus travels within our bodies. I highly suggest watching this if you are curious about what the virus does to the body when it enters.
Lastly, there are subreddits on the app Reddit such as r/coronavirus, r/coronavirusUSA, and r/coronaviruscolorado that provides up to date news and information about coronavirus in the world, United States, and Colorado. This app has allowed me to understand the lockdown, where to go for food, the coronavirus, and how to slow the spread of the virus.
I took a look at the digital divide impact and this was my understanding of it. The digital divide impacts people across the United States during a time of social distancing or self-quarantine by limiting news, information, and resources. People who are not able to access computers or the internet will not be able to read about social/physical distancing, proper self-quarantine procedures, lockdown procedures, food options, medical options, or other important pandemic information. This information is vital during the lockdown as it allows people to learn about the coronavirus, know how to behave during the pandemic, and how to get food or medical attention when needed. Those who will be affected are people with low income, high-school or lower education, and minorities.
During this time, I have had time to think. Here are my suggestions to help us all get through this hard time. There are necessities required for virtual learning, these include reliable internet, a computer or tablet, and a working microphone, camera, or headset. This allows you to effectively communicate and learn. While there are necessities there are also wants such as high-speed internet, a 4K HD camera, or a live-streaming capable computer. This will allow for the optimal streaming capability of one person such as a teacher that is multitasking between PowerPoints and the live-camera for teaching.
Stay safe! Wash your hands!
