Definition, User, & Purpose
With my current and desired skill-sets, I will help educate others using visuals and illustrations.
My design services are specifically aimed towards patients who are interested to learn and understand about a medical subject.
The problem I am aiming to solve is how I can use visuals to help educate someone (patient or anyone interested in learning more) about a medical subject.
1. Why do I want to help educate?
Because it helps me learn and understand different point of views of all kinds of information.
2. Why do I want to educate everyone?
Because not just a patient is curious about a medical subject.
3. Why do I want to help others?
Because it makes me feel accomplished and successful.
4. Why am I interested in solving a medical question?
Because I am surrounded by those who study medicine and have a good understanding of the human body.
5. Why do I think visuals are the best way to educate?
Because it has been proven to be most beneficial for people to understand and gather information.
Differentiation, Values, & Goals
Based on what I have seen for educational medical videos, they are either very graphic, outdated, or of a person communicating information and facts but not visual to represent what they are saying. Our attention span lasts around 8-12 seconds. Visuals can keep ones attention and help them stay focus on the information being provided to them. I will use my design skills to help capture that attention and provide informative information that will help answer ones questions and hopefully put at ease.
My design services will help better someone’s life because I will help answer as many questions as I can revolving around breast cancer. By providing pros and cons of medical options involved in specific stages of breast cancer, my visuals will be used to help someone make a decision as to how they would like to address the matter at hand.
The end goal is to figure out how I can use my skills to educate and mitigate a stressful medical subject revolved around breast cancer.
